Indigo FM presents Daniel Champagne in concert – Yackandandah Public Hall – 2 June 2018

Indigo FM presents its first concert featuring acclaimed singer songwriter guitarist Daniel Champagne as he makes a triumphant return to Yackandandah on Saturday 2 June at Yackandandah Public Hall.

“We are incredibly excited to be promoting Daniel Champagne’s upcoming Yackandandah concert. These days Champagne is based in Nashville Tennessee, and securing his agreement to include Yackandandah on his Snap Shot National tour was surprisingly easy as Daniel has long wanted to return to Yackandandah,” said Indigo FM President Scott Landells.

Daniel’s enthusiasm is high to do this concert. “It’s exciting to be coming back to Yackandandah for my first show in many years! I had the opportunity to play in the area from the good people at the Folk Festival back when i was just starting out – I fell in love with the place…such a cool town and wonderful people. I grew up in a regional area up in NSW myself so when I do get back to Australia, I like to tour through the major cities plus as many smaller towns as I can get to. Massive thanks to Indigo FM for helping us put Yackandandah on the list for 2018…I can’t wait to be back!” Champagne said.

A playlist of Daniel’s music can be found here https://soundcloud.com/scott-585203359/sets/daniel-champagne

Support act for the night will be local duo Forgotten Land who are Gem and Dave King. Gem tells stories through song and takes you on a journey through their life largely spent in the UK in the city of Bath where they met. They moved to Australia to Sydney and then Melbourne before settling in beautiful Yackandandah, living here for 2 years now. Gem sings from the heart with emotion and Dave accompanies her with his funky rhythms on percussion, including the djembe and cajon.

Tickets are $20 pre-sale (aged 15 and over, children under 15 are free) and can be booked on-line from the link below or purchased from the Yackandandah Newsagency, 24 High Street, Yackandandah.

Doors open from 6:30pm, Music from 7:30pm.

Exciting news – Indigo FM has found a home in Chiltern!

The Telegraph Hotel Chiltern have agreed to provide a room for Indigo FM to set up a radio site in the beautiful heritage town. This exciting news marks the beginning of an exciting phase for the volunteer-run local radio station.

Indigo FM Chiltern will put out a local signal with an approximate radius of 5km on 87.6FM. The station will be on air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year and will be run entirely by volunteers. It will provide an opportunity for locals of all ages to be trained to present radio programs to their local community as well as creating podcasts. Currently there are a couple of locals already trained up and a handful of others waiting to be trained.
